ISA Meetings

Annual General Meeting 2006
The AGM was held at the United Services Club on Monday March 20 2006. The chairman George Rogers posed the question: “Do we still need, or want, an ISA?” He pointed out that the membership and activity of the ISA had declined since the peak period during the Terry Smith era. Stephen Vaughan had brought the club much-needed financial investment and had overseen a period of success in which League status had been regained. Did this mean that there was not the same appetite for an independent fans’ group?

Speakers from the floor, and guest speaker Charlie Lambert, were adamant that there was still a need for the ISA even if the numbers were not as large as in the past. The general feeling was that no-one knew what the future held and in the event of further crises an organised independent fans’ group could have a vital role to play.

Committee members Sarah Young and Vi Jennerway indicated that they wished to stand down and treasurer Martin Williams said he did not wish to continue as treasurer although he would be happy to remain a member of the committee. The meeting recorded a vote of thanks to all three for their outstanding work on behalf of the ISA.

Keith Musson was elected treasurer and Alison Dean was elected treasurer. Charlie Lambert (an ISA member for several years) was also voted onto the committee.
